They have been known for their reliability and performance, but they do have some downtimes. They use a custom control panel, vDeck, which allows customers to manage their hosting accounts. Their customer service is top notch and provides good support to clients with issues regarding their web hosting plan.

IPOWER has three web hosting plans. The entry level Starter Plan is affordable, but it lacks in the features department. It provides a low amount of disk space and bandwidth each month. Domain is also not free. The Pro Plan provides the best value because it comes with unlimited storage space and bandwidth. It also comes with a free domain. All their web hosting plans provide FTP accounts and 1 GB cloud storage from JustCloud. Ipower supports various scripts and software, such as PHP 4 and 5, CGI-BIN, PERL, MySQL, website statistics, backup software, control panel, and website builder. The Pro and Pro Plus plans have e-commerce features such as osCommerce Shopping Cart, Agora Shopping Cart, PayPal Payment Services, and ShopSite. The web hosting provider also gives access to a File Manager, FTP Manager, and Secure FTP in all three plans.

Reliability  

IPOWER delivers their services via two modern data centers located in Massachusetts. The data centers have more than 800 servers and a total of half a petabyte of disk space. The servers are estimated to process 5.5 gigabits a second. According to the web hosting provider, their data centers are linked to the internet via multiple fiber optics and gigabit connection of various backbone providers. The company’s front-end network is composed of dual redundant M7I routers and firewalls that are cross-connected to the world with BGP border gateway protocol. The setup was designed to provide network reliability and fast network performance, but that was not the case when this review was made. The company’s website was sluggish and times out.

Performance  

IPOWER designed its server architecture to be divided into several groups of servers for different applications. They utilize RAID data storage devices to store the files. The design allows the web hosting provider to customize the service for a specific service and provide better performance. Incoming requests are distributed to the various servers with the use of a dual Big Iron load balancer. The data center is protected by security guards and monitored by network security staff.

IPOWER offers 24/7 customer support via a toll-free telephone number, email ticket system, and live chat. Response time is quick, with the waiting time around two minutes. Their support staff is competent, helpful and friendly. IPOWER also provides a knowledgebase, tutorials, and user guide on their website. They provide good resources that allow users to troubleshoot their problems before contacting customer support.
