WebHostingPad.com provides a super cheap hosting plan that has nothing special. It is a decent option for people looking to start their first website. They aim to serve the needs of consumers who are looking for affordable hosting. At $1.99 a month, there are few hosting providers that can provide cheaper rates than WebHostingPad.

But even with that low price, WebHostingPad stays under the radar when people talk about hosting providers. It is because they have a poor reputation among website owners who complain about not getting support for their tickets. If you are thinking of starting your WordPress blog on them because of the price, think again. There are better hosting providers on the market today.

WebHostingPad Overall Review

webhostingpad

webhostingpad

WebHostingPad provides cheap shared hosting package with all the basic features comparable with their competitors. But on the downside, they also utilize cheap data center, and it results to downtimes and sluggish loading speeds. They also need to improve on their customer support. It is not an excuse that their support is outsourced because a lot of companies also outsource their support but still manage to have good results. If you are thinking of hosting a small business website then go elsewhere. If it is just a personal blog that will have a few visitors, then WebHostingPad could work for you.

Features

WebHostingPad provides basic hosting at very low price. They are more focused on the price that they seem to forget about the important stuff, such as costumer service. They support more than 200 scripts, and their customers have access to popular platforms such as Drupal, Joomla, osCommerce, Magento, WordPress, and a lot more. They provide the usual features of shared hosting plans such as unlimited disk space, bandwidth, and email account. They also provide a free domain, which is only free for the first year and will be charged a high fee for renewal.

Reliability

WebHostingPad guarantees an uptime of 99 percent. Customers complain that their websites are down and don’t have good loading speed. The hosting provider utilizes cheap data centers to allow them to provide dirt cheap plans. That’s why their loading speed is more than three seconds in most cases. There have been a lot of reports that their servers go down for no apparent reasons. That track record, when it comes to uptime, is not impressive at all. Downtime has been one of the reasons why a lot of website owners don’t recommend going with the WebHostingPad.

Price / Value

WebHostingPad provides a very cheap hosting plan. They promise hassle-free hosting and that their consumers get more than they have paid for. For only $1.99 a month, they provide free setup and no hidden fees. Customers also receive free marketing credits worth $200. If you already own a website, they provide free website and domain transfer. But you should think twice before you decide on switching your website to WebHostingPad. And if you are not happy with the service, they have a 30 day money back guarantee. Keep in mind that domain service, as well as the setup fees are not part of the money back guarantee. The hosting provider will deduct these fees from the refund amount.

They also provide three Virtual Private Server plans, Beginner, Professional, and Premium. Beginner VPS plan starts at $19.95 a month and comes with 20 GB storage space, 100 GB monthly bandwidth, 1 GB of guaranteed memory, and a dedicated IP. Professional VPS plan starts at $34.95 a month and features 80 GB of disk space, unlimited bandwidth, 2 GB of guaranteed memory and 2 dedicated IP. Premium VPS plan costs $49.95 a month and has 160 GB, unlimited bandwidth, 4 GB of guaranteed memory, and 3 dedicated IP.

Performance

Performance is not a strong suit of WebHostingPad. Customers have complained about a lot of problems regarding the company’s hosting services. Some of the problems they have encountered include server hack, out of memory, Apache web server crash and a lot more. Poor performance leads to bad user experience. And when people complain about the performance, the hosting provider blames the software, and they recommend switching to another platform. During peak hours, the loading speed becomes more problematic, and the home page of websites hosted on their servers takes up to have a minute to fully load. There are some speculations that WebHostingPad overloads its servers with customers in order to save money.

Customer Support

WebHostingPad claims that they provide customer service through telephone, email, ticketing system and live chat. Customers complain that they don’t actually receive any technical support from the hosting provider. Tickets are left unanswered and would be closed without any resolutions offered. To be fair to the company, they respond to calls and emails but it is hard to get a resolution from them. There are some customers who had to wait for a long period of time before they get a reply. They have a knowledgebase on their website that might give you better answers than their customer service representative.
